Donald Trump Says He Needs Time to Decide on TikTok Ban Enforcement

Former President Donald Trump, who is set to take office again in the coming weeks, has commented on the Supreme Court's recent decision to uphold a congressional ban on TikTok. While he acknowledged that the ruling was expected, Trump stated that he requires more time to decide whether he will enforce the ban on the popular Chinese-owned social media app.

Trump made his statement via his social media platform, Truth Social, on Friday, where he addressed the issue directly. He wrote:
"The Supreme Court decision was expected, and everyone must respect it. My decision on TikTok will be made in the not too distant future, but I must have time to review the situation. Stay tuned!"

This comes after months of discussions and debates surrounding the security concerns associated with TikTok, particularly related to user data privacy and potential influence from the Chinese government. The Supreme Court's ruling had a significant impact, reinforcing the legal authority to proceed with the ban.

Trump’s remarks have further fueled speculation about the future of TikTok in the United States, with many wondering whether the platform will face a full ban or if certain exceptions may apply under the new administration.
