ESPN’s New Streaming App Will Cost $29.99 Per Month
ESPN’s new stand-alone streaming service will launch this fall at a price of $29.99 per month, Disney announced on Tuesday.
The service, simply called “ESPN”, will offer live games, programming from ESPN cable networks (including ESPN2, SEC Network, and ESPN on ABC), as well as studio shows, documentaries, fantasy tools, and sports betting content.
Bundling Options and Launch Offer
-
Customers can bundle ESPN with Disney+ and Hulu (ad-supported) for $35.99/month.
-
Those who sign up at launch will get the bundle for $29.99/month for the first 12 months.
-
An annual subscription to the ESPN app will cost $299.99.
How It Compares to ESPN+
The new ESPN app differs from ESPN+, which costs $11.99/month and does not include top live games, like the full Monday Night Football schedule. ESPN+ will remain available as a lower-cost option.
Disney says it plans to encourage ESPN+ users to upgrade to the new all-access ESPN app.
App Revamp and Access for Cable Users
The ESPN mobile app will be redesigned later this year to serve as the central hub for the new streaming service. It will feature a personalized “SportsCenter” and be available across smart TVs and devices.
Pay TV subscribers who already receive ESPN through cable will be able to log into the app for additional digital features at no extra cost.
