Dubai Police Rescues 5 Stranded Hikers in Challenging Hatta Mountains Operation

In a dramatic rescue operation, Dubai Police successfully saved five hikers who were stranded on a hazardous mountain in Hatta. The hikers had become trapped in difficult terrain and were unable to descend safely, prompting a swift response from Dubai Police's Air Wing team.

The operation, carried out by two air ambulance personnel, two pilots, and a navigator, involved the use of a helicopter equipped with a hoist to lower paramedics directly to the hikers' location. After providing medical assistance, the group was confirmed to be unharmed and did not require hospitalization.

According to Pilot Colonel Khalfan Salem Al Mazroui, acting director of the Air Wing Centre, the distress call from the hikers was received by the Command and Control Centre. Given the challenging conditions, including the lack of a safe landing area for the helicopter, the team employed a winch to carefully lift the hikers to safety.

"The operation was executed with precision, ensuring the safety of everyone involved," Colonel Al Mazroui stated. "We assessed the situation carefully and used the helicopter's hoist to bring them to a secure location."

Thanks to the quick actions of the Dubai Police Air Wing team, the hikers were transported to safety without injury. The incident was concluded efficiently, with the hikers expressing their gratitude for the professionalism and expertise shown by the rescue team.

Mishal Julfar, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, praised the seamless collaboration between Dubai Ambulance and Dubai Police in carrying out the successful rescue mission. He emphasized the importance of such operations, especially with the growing number of visitors to Hatta for events like the "Hatta Winter Festival."

The operation also highlighted the preparedness of the specialized ambulance teams and advanced medical vehicles deployed by both entities. These efforts ensure the safety of residents, tourists, and adventurers in even the most challenging environments.
