Tough Competition Ahead: Can Sky Force Sustain Its Momentum?
Trade analysts predict that the film’s second-week performance could face hurdles with the release of Shahid Kapoor’s action thriller Deva, which hits theatres today.
Noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh commented on the film’s future at the box office, stating:
"With #Deva releasing tomorrow, it will be interesting to see how #SkyForce holds up in the coming week, especially in the face of new competition."
About Sky Force
Sky Force is an aviation war drama based on India’s first-ever and deadliest airstrike, carried out on Pakistan’s Sargodha Airbase during the Indo-Pak War of 1965. The film follows Indian Air Force officers executing a retaliatory strike that changed the course of the war.
Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the film stars Akshay Kumar alongside debutant Veer Pahariya in pivotal roles. The cast also includes Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan, adding to the film’s ensemble.
Akshay Kumar’s Box Office Struggles Continue
Despite securing a double-digit opening, Sky Force comes after a string of underwhelming box office performances from Akshay Kumar, raising questions about his pull at the box office. While the film’s nationalist theme and aerial action sequences initially drew audiences, its ability to maintain strong earnings in the coming weeks remains uncertain.
As the film heads into its second weekend, all eyes will be on whether Sky Force can cross the ₹100 crore mark or if competition from new releases will further dampen its box office prospects.
