Early Life, Education, and Career Journey

Tell us about your early life, education, and career journey

I was trained as an engineer and later earned an MBA from the Simon School of Business, University of Rochester, USA, an academic journey that shaped my analytical thinking and strategic approach. At the same time, music was always a constant in my life, not just as an art form, but as a source of emotional grounding and self-expression.

My career journey brought together these two worlds, logic and creativity. While my education equipped me with structure, systems thinking, and business acumen, my experiences with music and working closely with children helped me understand the deeper emotional and developmental impact of learning an art form. This intersection ultimately led to the founding of Music Pandit in 2021.

Building Music Pandit has been a journey of learning, resilience, and purpose. From challenging traditional notions of online music education to creating a structured, school-like ecosystem for children, my focus has always been on designing learning experiences that are pedagogically strong, emotionally meaningful, and scalable. Today, that journey continues with a clear mission: to use music as a tool to help children grow with confidence, discipline, and joy.

Current Role and What Drives Her Work

What is your current role, and what do you enjoy most about your work?

I currently serve as the Founder & CEO of Music Pandit, where I lead the company’s vision, strategy, and overall growth. My role spans building strong teams, shaping curriculum and learning systems, driving innovation through technology, and ensuring that everything we do remains deeply child-centric and impact-driven.

What I enjoy most about my work is witnessing real transformation in children. Watching a shy child gain confidence, a distracted child find focus, or a hesitant learner discover joy through music is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that our work helps children not only learn an instrument but also grow emotionally and express themselves with confidence is what makes this journey meaningful for me every single day.

Proudest Professional Accomplishment

What has been your proudest professional accomplishment?

My proudest professional accomplishment has been building Music Pandit into a globally trusted, impact-led education platform that truly changes children’s lives. Creating a company where structured learning, emotional well-being, and creativity coexist, and seeing that translate into real outcomes such as increased confidence, happiness, and focus in children, has been deeply rewarding.

While recognitions such as appearing on Shark Tank India and receiving grants from Stanford Seed Spark and NSRCEL are meaningful milestones, what gives me the greatest pride is the trust parents place in us and the transformation we see in our students every day. Knowing that Music Pandit is shaping not just better musicians, but more confident and emotionally resilient children, is the most fulfilling achievement of my journey.

Major Challenge and How She Overcame It

What is one major challenge you’ve faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?

One of the biggest challenges I faced was building trust in online music education, especially for children, at a time when many parents strongly believed that music could only be taught effectively in person. Convincing families that structured, high-quality music learning could happen online required not just technology, but a complete rethinking of pedagogy, teacher training, and accountability.

I overcame this challenge by focusing relentlessly on outcomes rather than promises. We invested deeply in curriculum design, teacher mentoring, assessments, parent–teacher meetings, and performance milestones, essentially creating a school-like ecosystem that parents could see and trust. As students began showing real progress and parents witnessed positive changes in confidence, focus, and emotional well-being, skepticism gradually turned into belief. This experience taught me that consistency, clarity of purpose, and staying close to the customer are among the strongest ways to overcome resistance and build something meaningful.

Staying Ahead in the Industry

How do you stay ahead in your industry?

We stay ahead in the industry by constantly evolving how music education is delivered, measured, and experienced by children. At Music Pandit, staying ahead means not just adopting new technology, but deeply understanding learning behaviour, emotional development, and long-term engagement.

We invest continuously in pedagogy research, teacher training, and our AI-enabled learning platform to personalise learning journeys and track meaningful progress. Our structured, school-like ecosystem, complete with principals, heads of departments, assessments, parent–teacher meetings, and performance milestones, ensures consistency and accountability at scale. Most importantly, we listen closely to parents and students, using their feedback to refine our programs while staying aligned with global music education standards. This balance of innovation, structure, and emotional relevance is what keeps us ahead.

Advice for Young Professionals

What advice would you give to young professionals aiming for success?

Focus on building skills and character before chasing titles. Early in your career, curiosity, discipline, and a willingness to learn will take you much further than quick wins. Seek roles and mentors that challenge you, and do not be afraid to start small if the learning is meaningful.

Equally important, stay connected to what gives you purpose. Success is more sustainable when your work aligns with your values and strengths. Be patient with your growth, stay adaptable as industries evolve, and remember that consistency and integrity over time matter far more than speed.
