For the second time within a year, Delhi University has raised the annual fees for its courses by 46%. Concerns have been raised by Delhi University teachers and members of the Academic Council, who believe that this increase is an attempt to utilise student funds for repaying interest on loans from the Higher Education Funding Agency (HEFA). Notably, this marks the second instance of fee adjustments in the past 13 years.

The University has specifically doubled the charges for student welfare funds, while fees for facilities and services, as well as development fund charges, have seen a 10% increase. These adjustments came into effect in the academic year 2024-25.

Details of the fee increases are as follows: charges for student welfare funds and facilities & services have surged to INR 1,000/- and INR 200/-, respectively. Development fund charges have experienced a 10% hike from INR 900/- to INR 1,000/- in the current year.

It's noteworthy that the Development fund was previously raised from INR 600/- to INR 900/- in 2022, and now it has undergone another increment.

Admission to Delhi University for the 2024-25 academic session will be determined through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses. The deadline for PG program applications was January 24, 2024. Interested students can complete the application process at www.admission.uod.ac.in. The University has already provided information on the entrance exam date, pattern, schedule, availability, and more on their official portal.
