CBSE Board Exam 2025 Begins: Class 10 English, Class 12 Entrepreneurship Papers Today

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the academic year 2025 today, February 15. The first set of exams includes English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) for Class 10, while Class 12 students will be appearing for the Entrepreneurship paper. The exams begin at 10:30 AM and conclude at 1:30 PM across various examination centers in India and abroad.

Guidelines for Candidates

CBSE has issued strict guidelines for students appearing in the board exams:

  • Entry to Exam Halls: Entry closes at 10:00 AM sharp; latecomers will not be permitted.

  • Admit Card Requirement: Students must carry their CBSE admit cards along with a valid school ID (for regular students) or government-issued photo ID (for private students).

  • Prohibited Items: Electronic devices, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, handbags, wallets, or any unauthorized material are strictly banned inside the examination halls.

  • Allowed Items: Transparent pouches, geometry boxes, blue/royal blue pens, pencils, scale, writing pad, eraser, analogue watches, transparent water bottles, and bus passes.

  • Dress Code: Students are advised to wear school uniforms while appearing for the examination.

Security and Logistics

To ensure a smooth conduct of the examination, CBSE has deployed over 2,10,012 assistant superintendents and 11,45,519 evaluators. Metro and transport services have been advised to facilitate students' movement to examination centers, with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) prioritizing CBSE candidates at ticket counters and security checks.

Exam Duration and Schedule

  • The Class 10 board exams will continue until March 18, 2025.

  • The Class 12 board exams will conclude on April 4, 2025.

  • CBSE has provided sufficient gaps between major subjects to reduce student stress and allow better preparation.
