About

BlueDot Meetings brings together the defining interests of Hon. Mark B. Jackson’s career: international business, communication, and relationships that cross borders. As founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of BlueDot Global Technologies, Inc., Jackson has launched a browser-based meeting platform designed to help people communicate across languages. With AI translation through closed captions in 15 languages and use spanning 59 countries, BlueDot Meetings reflects his belief that global collaboration should be accessible to people beyond the largest corporations.

Headquartered in Hoover, Alabama (USA), with its European headquarters in Liverpool, England, the company draws on Jackson’s experience connecting American enterprise with international partners. Its translation capabilities support conversations between participants speaking different languages, giving businesses and institutions another way to engage across markets. Jackson is also advancing a proposed sovereign infrastructure model intended to address national data-residency needs. His focus is on building a commercially sustainable platform whose international reach grows alongside its users’ confidence.

The platform’s emphasis on dialogue reflects Jackson’s experience in rooms where understanding another person matters as much as presenting an idea. BlueDot Meetings supports exchanges between people speaking different languages through translated captions. Its proposed sovereignty model would route users to virtual servers in their own countries, with an initial vision covering 86 countries. That initiative connects product development with questions he has encountered through international work: where information travels, who controls it, and how organizations establish trust across jurisdictions.

BlueDot’s origins reach back to lessons learned during Jackson’s earlier career in telecommunications. He built Moreson Conferencing from a modest workspace beside his parents’ home into a business that occupied much of his professional life for 27 years. Moreson Conferencing operated in 65 countries. Customer relationships and responsive service shaped his approach. A conversation with a prospective client in Liverpool helped him recognize the growing importance of automation and self-service, an insight that later informed BlueDot’s development. When Moreson closed in December 2023, he committed his experience and personal resources to building its successor.

The transition also represents a willingness to begin again after decades in business. Jackson’s original conferencing company taught him to take responsibility for the meetings customers entrusted to his team. BlueDot carries that service philosophy into a different technological environment. He has assembled colleagues and board members with commercial and international experience, drawing on relationships developed over many years while working toward commercialization and broader adoption of the platform.

Jackson also serves as chairman of the Alabama Advisory Board of Citizens Trust Bank. This role places his business experience within another institution connected to Alabama’s economic life. It complements a career spent bringing people together around commercial and civic opportunities. Across banking, technology, and international engagement, his leadership reflects the importance he assigns to knowing the communities he serves and maintaining relationships that extend beyond any single company or project. His diplomatic work adds an international perspective to this approach to service.

Alongside business, Jackson has served as Honorary Consul General of Japan in Alabama since 2014, helping strengthen connections between Japan and the southeastern United States. His work has brought him into sustained contact with diplomatic, commercial, educational, and civic leaders. One such moment came in Tokyo when he introduced Japan’s ambassador to the United States, Kenichiro Sasae, to the newly appointed American ambassador to Japan, Bill Hagerty. The introduction illustrated the usefulness of relationships cultivated through years of service.

As chairman of the Birmingham Sister Cities Commission, Jackson helped create and strengthen relationships linking Birmingham with Liverpool, England; Kingston, Jamaica; and Maebashi, Japan. He approached these partnerships as foundations for continuing educational, cultural, and commercial exchange. His subsequent service on the board of Sister Cities International extended that commitment. The Liverpool relationship also helped establish connections that would become relevant to BlueDot’s international expansion.

The Kingston partnership illustrates the effort behind those international connections. Jackson helped orchestrate signing events in both cities and, with his wife, Allison, welcomed more than 260 guests to their home for a reception associated with the Birmingham signing. Such occasions created opportunities for officials, businesspeople, and community representatives to meet personally. For Jackson, the value of a sister-city agreement lies in the exchanges and working relationships that can follow the ceremony.

His achievements have earned recognition including the Birmingham Chamber Small Businessperson of the Year award, the Alabama Governor’s Trade Excellence Award, and the Jessie Lewis Jr. Community Service Award.

His academic path included studies at Jacksonville State University and Auburn University at Montgomery, where his interests included business and political science. In 2019, the University of Hertfordshire awarded him a doctorate in Politics and International Relations. He also holds honorary doctorates from Piedmont International University and Talladega College.

Underlying these roles is a lesson from his father, Byron Carey Jackson: “A smart man knows everything. A wise man knows everybody.” For Jackson, relationships carry responsibilities as well as opportunities. Today, BlueDot Meetings gives that philosophy a technological expression, bringing decades of business experience and international service into a platform intended to make meaningful communication possible across distance and language. His career continues through the work of building connections that others can use and carry forward across communities and countries.
