Sky Force Box Office Prediction Day 1: Akshay Kumar’s Film Poised for His Biggest Opening in Years
The much-awaited action-drama Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar alongside Veer Pahariya, has already made waves at the box office on its opening day. Inspired by the daring 1965 airstrike by India on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase during the Indo-Pakistani air war, the film is capturing attention from both critics and fans alike.
A Promising Start at the Box Office
Initial reports from the box office indicate that Sky Force is set to deliver one of Akshay Kumar’s best openings in years. By 8:30 PM on its release day, the film had already accumulated ₹9.25 crore, with projections suggesting it could cross the ₹10 crore mark by the end of the day.
This remarkable start positions Sky Force ahead of Akshay Kumar’s previous 2024 releases. It outperforms the ₹2.5 crore opening of Sarfira and the ₹5.05 crore debut of Khel Khel Mein, signifying a major box office revival for the actor.
Mixed Reviews, but Positive Momentum
While the film has garnered mixed reviews from audiences, its riveting storyline—based on actual events—and Akshay Kumar's performance have received praise. Moviegoers are flocking to theaters, eager to witness the cinematic portrayal of one of India’s most significant military victories.

Hindustan Times Review
In its review, Hindustan Times lauded Sky Force for its emotional depth and compelling portrayal of the soldiers' selflessness. The review particularly highlighted the powerful ending montage, which contrasts reel characters with real-life heroes, leaving audiences reflecting on the bravery and sacrifice of India’s soldiers.
"Overall, Sky Force is a well-crafted film that challenges you to think about the selflessness of our soldiers. The emotional montage at the end, blending reel and real-life figures, will stay with you long after the credits roll. It certainly did that for me," the review concluded.
