FanDuel Sports Network Nears 1 Million Streaming Subscribers After Rebrand
FanDuel Sports Network said Monday it now counts 650,000 paid streaming subscribers, nearly doubling its base over the past eight weeks, as demand for regional sports coverage continues to grow via direct-to-consumer platforms.
The network, owned by the recently restructured Main Street Sports Group, expects to reach 1 million subscribers by year-end, fueled by strong viewership during the 2025 MLB season and new streaming partnerships.
Formerly known as Bally Sports, the rebranded network broadcasts local games for 30 MLB, NBA, and NHL teams through 15 regional channels. Since April, FanDuel Sports Network has averaged 250,000 unique daily users and one million monthly users, with game watch time up 9% year over year to 92.5 minutes.
The company’s resurgence follows its exit from bankruptcy, where it shed debt and revised its contracts with teams, leagues, and lenders. Key to its streaming success are expanded distribution deals, including a non-exclusive partnership with Amazon Prime Video, and recent collaborations with SB Nation and Yahoo Sports to drive subscriptions through affiliate links and integrated promotions.
“We’re progressing on our mission to reinvent the local sports media landscape,” said David Preschlack, CEO of Main Street Sports Group.
Pricing for FanDuel’s service starts at $19.99/month, though promotional offers vary by team and region. The network is experimenting with price models to appeal to a broader audience, particularly as cord-cutting continues to pressure legacy pay-TV providers.
The shift comes as regional sports networks face a reckoning amid declining cable subscribers and escalating disputes with distributors. FanDuel’s digital-first approach, backed by targeted marketing and flexible distribution, positions it as a key player in the evolving sports media landscape.
“We’re learning constantly what the optimal price point is,” said COO Michael Schneider, adding that partnerships and team-based offers have driven much of the growth.
