China has unveiled the world’s first mobile 5G base station designed for battlefield conditions. Developed by China Mobile Communications Group and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the system supports up to 10,000 users within a 3-kilometre range, providing secure, high-speed communication even in remote or disrupted environments.

The innovative setup uses drones as aerial base stations mounted on military vehicles, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity. The system achieves 10Gbps speeds with under 15ms latency, even at 80 km/h in challenging terrains.

This advancement is part of China’s effort to create an unmanned military force, integrating drones and robotic systems. Recent reports also reveal China’s development of drone-mounted metal-cutting lasers, demonstrating rapid progress in battlefield technologies.

These innovations highlight China’s growing influence in reshaping modern warfare.
