Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group Stocks Soar: What’s Behind the Rally?
Shares of Anil Ambani-owned companies like Reliance Power and Reliance Infrastructure have seen a big rise in recent weeks. Reliance Power is up over 70% in the past month, while Reliance Infrastructure has gained nearly 60%.
This rise has caught the attention of investors and the stock market. Several key developments have contributed to the rally.
Reliance Power recently posted strong results for the January–March 2025 quarter. The company reported a profit of ₹125.57 crore, compared to a loss of ₹397.56 crore in the same quarter last year. It also achieved an EBITDA of ₹590 crore, and its debt-to-equity ratio improved to 0.88:1, down from 1.61:1 last year.
Another reason for the share price jump is new project wins. On May 28, Reliance NU Energies, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, received a contract for a 350 MW solar project and a 175 MW battery storage system from SJVN Limited. The company also signed a 25-year energy agreement with Bhutan’s Druk Green Power.
Reliance Infrastructure also made headlines this week. The company announced it is strengthening its defence partnership with Germany’s Diehl Defence. The two firms are working on advanced weapons systems. This adds long-term value to the company’s defence business.
Legal relief has also helped improve investor confidence. The NCLAT has paused insolvency proceedings against Reliance Power. Meanwhile, Reliance Capital’s resolution plan has moved forward, with IndusInd International set to take over its operations for ₹9,650 crore.
Both companies have worked on reducing debt. Reliance Infrastructure has almost zero standalone debt now. Reliance Power has raised capital through new share allotments to improve its finances.
Experts say this mix of strong earnings, big project wins, debt reduction, and legal clarity is the reason behind the sharp rise in stock prices.
Market analysts now see the ADAG group as being in a turnaround phase, with real growth potential instead of past financial troubles.
