Vikings WR Jordan Addison Carted Off with Apparent Leg Injury During Practice
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was carted off the field during Wednesday’s practice after sustaining what appeared to be a leg injury. Addison was seen hobbling off the field with assistance from Vikings trainers following an attempt to catch a contested pass. He eventually made his way to a cart, with his teammates, including fellow receiver Justin Jefferson, coming over to offer their support. Jefferson himself missed part of the previous season due to an injury.
Following the practice session, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell reported that Addison had injured his ankle and is expected to miss Thursday’s practice. O'Connell noted that Addison would undergo further tests but expressed optimism, stating, “I think he’s going to be OK.”
Entering his second NFL season, Addison had a promising rookie year, recording 70 receptions for 911 yards and leading the team with 10 touchdowns. His availability for the season had already been a point of concern following an arrest in July on suspicion of driving under the influence, when police found the 22-year-old asleep at the wheel of his vehicle.
The Vikings’ training camp has been marked by a series of injury setbacks. In addition to Addison's situation, head coach Kevin O’Connell announced that 2024 first-round draft pick, quarterback J.J. McCarthy, will miss the entire season following surgery to repair a torn meniscus. Furthermore, cornerback Mekhi Blackmon is also out for the year due to an ACL injury sustained early in camp.
