Donald Trump Appoints Indian-American Sriram Krishnan as Senior AI Policy Advisor
US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Indian-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist Sriram Krishnan as Senior White House Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence. The announcement, made on Sunday, highlights Trump’s focus on AI as a key area for his administration.
Sriram Krishnan will collaborate closely with David O. Sacks, who will serve as the White House AI and Crypto Czar. Together, they will work on advancing U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence and shaping policies to foster innovation. Krishnan’s responsibilities include coordinating AI strategies across government agencies and advising the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
Trump praised Krishnan's expertise, stating, “Sriram will ensure continued American leadership in AI. His vast experience, including as a founding member of Microsoft’s Windows Azure team, will be invaluable.”
Krishnan, known for his work at top tech companies like Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo!, and Snap, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. “I’m honored to serve our country and help shape the future of AI,” he said.
The Indian-American community welcomed the news with pride.
