One of the earliest milestones in her professional journey was the establishment of Stepping Stones Childcare & Preschool LLC, where she serves as Director. Built on a strong foundation in education and child development, the center was created to provide a nurturing yet structured environment that supports children academically, socially, and emotionally. What began as a small child care initiative has grown into a trusted preschool program recognized for its warmth, discipline, and holistic approach to development. In her role, Pratima oversees curriculum planning, licensing compliance, parent partnerships, and daily operations, ensuring children receive both essential foundational skills and compassionate guidance during their formative years.

Although her academic background began in Electronics and Telecommunications, her professional calling led her toward education and human development. After earning a Master of Science in Education, she committed herself fully to creating learning environments that cultivate confidence, structure, and long-term success. This transition marked a defining shift in her leadership path, aligning her professional expertise with her deeper purpose.

Her entrepreneurial vision expanded further with the founding of Arya Math Academy, an online tutoring institution designed to provide rigorous and accessible academic preparation. What started as a focused initiative has grown into a respected virtual academy supported by a team of carefully selected tutors. As Founder and Director, Pratima leads curriculum development, tutor mentorship, quality standards, and individualized student progress. She maintains high expectations for conceptual clarity, discipline, and accountability, ensuring each student receives personalized academic support while building resilience and self-belief.

A deeply personal chapter in her life reshaped her purpose even further. While caring for her aging parents during serious illness, Pratima experienced firsthand the emotional, logistical, and systemic challenges faced by seniors and their caregivers. She witnessed how easily older adults can become isolated and how families often struggle to navigate complex support systems during vulnerable moments.

Motivated by this experience, she co-founded Volunteering for Seniors with her husband, Ramakrishna Penumarthy. As Founder and CEO, Pratima provides strategic leadership while remaining closely involved in execution. While the organization was founded on a shared vision, she has carried primary operational responsibility, overseeing programs, partnerships, compliance, fundraising, and community outreach. Under her leadership, the nonprofit has delivered senior wellness fairs, chronic condition education workshops, caregiver support sessions, cultural enrichment programs, art initiatives, and intergenerational activities that connect youth with seniors. The organization places particular emphasis on serving underserved senior populations, especially women and immigrant communities, ensuring they feel respected, supported, and socially connected.

Recognizing that caregiving challenges often intersect with financial uncertainty, Pratima expanded her impact by becoming a licensed financial professional. Through financial education workshops and one-on-one consultations, she helps families understand protection strategies, retirement preparedness, and long-term financial stability. Her work integrates education, service, and financial literacy into a unified approach to empowerment that supports individuals and families across generations.

From launching an early childhood center to leading a growing nonprofit organization and managing multiple ventures, Pratima has navigated challenges with determination and integrity.
