World’s 20 Visionary Professionals to Follow in 2025

Ella Khan

Company: Ella K Connections LLC

Designation: Founder

Country: United States

Ella Khan’s journey is deeply personal and profoundly impactful. On July 4th, 2022, she experienced a life-altering loss when her mother passed away from cancer. Her mother had noticed something growing on her neck but, having lived under a country experiencing political and social turmoil where access to healthcare was challenging and expensive, she felt too ashamed to ask for help. By the time she visited a doctor, it was sadly too late.

After her mother’s passing, Ella made a purposeful decision to work for a school district where she could support families struggling with language barriers. She is currently responsible for coordinating translations and interpretations for a district that serves more than 51,000 students.

Driven by empathy and a strong sense of purpose, Ella channeled her experiences into innovation and education. The cartoon character featured on her YouTube channel is a fun creation by her oldest son, Jahan, who also named their customized ChatGPT model "Detroit." Ella has learned extensively from “Detroit” and uses it to produce videos for school district staff. She was the first staff member to volunteer to give training about AI, and she now advocates for the establishment of an AI Task Force within the district.

Her dedication to education and technology is reflected in several innovative projects. She developed a customized version of ChatGPT called "Interpret Coach," which she has been using and testing for nearly a year. This model is designed to assist students in special education by rehearsing interpretation scenarios and listening to their responses after lessons are shared.

Another creative initiative includes "Professor Lone Star," a customized ChatGPT that demonstrates the versatility of AI by speaking in Texan slang and engaging in time-travel conversations with historical figures from Texas. In addition, Ella created “Dr. AI,” a virtual professor who teaches AI in both perfect English and Venezuelan Spanish, showcasing the possibilities of AI in education.

Ella holds a law degree and, prior to leaving her home country, worked for a joint venture involving Chevron Texaco and ConocoPhillips (Petrolera Ameriven), where she was responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts.

During her time in England, she worked as an interpreter and studied to become a legal secretary, ready to start over. However, life had different plans. Upon relocating to Texas, she once again began from scratch, becoming a certified medical interpreter and special education advocate to support immigrant families during difficult school meetings.

Now, she is combining her legal background, advocacy experience, and interpreting expertise with the power of AI. She is currently enrolled in an exceptional program at MIT to gain deep knowledge about AI in business and how it can be used to serve communities.

Her mission is clear: to illuminate how AI can transform learning environments and empower both educators and students. More of her work and initiatives can be explored through her website https://ellakconnectionsllc.com and YouTube channel www.youtube.com/@EllaAi-z4e.
