About

For Jonathan Edmondson, CFA, the most valuable technology is not necessarily the technology that makes the most decisions. It is the technology that gives people the information, clarity, and confidence to make better ones. This belief has shaped more than two decades of his professional journey, from international logistics and financial leadership to enterprise transformation and artificial intelligence. Today, as Founder and CEO of Koshee, Jonathan is applying that philosophy to a field where informed human judgment can be particularly consequential: security and public safety.

Jonathan began his career with A.P. Moller–Maersk, gaining experience across finance, logistics, and international operations during a period of significant global expansion. His responsibilities took him across the United States, West Africa, Middle East, and Europe before bringing him to Maersk’s headquarters in Copenhagen. Working within a complex multinational organization gave him firsthand exposure to the challenges of coordinating operations across markets, managing resources, and maintaining performance at scale.

Those early experiences established a foundation for his subsequent leadership roles. At Splashlight, Jonathan led mergers and acquisitions and capital-raising initiatives, strengthening his experience in corporate growth and financial strategy. He later joined LiiV, contributing to financial strategy across a portfolio of rapidly growing technology-enabled companies. Each transition expanded his understanding of how organizations evolve and how technology, operational discipline, and strategic decision-making can support sustainable growth.

Throughout these experiences, Jonathan developed a consistent approach to business transformation: identify the complexity that prevents people from performing effectively, then find practical ways to reduce it.

That approach now guides his work as Founder and CEO of Koshee, where he oversees a portfolio of tech-enabled service companies focused on the security and construction industries. His current technology focus is Koshee Protect, an AI-powered video intelligence platform developed to help organizations make better use of their existing camera infrastructure.

In many security environments, the challenge is not a lack of video footage but the difficulty of finding relevant information within it. Security teams may have access to extensive camera networks yet spend considerable time reviewing recordings, following activity across feeds, or reconstructing events after they occur.

Koshee Protect addresses this challenge through artificial intelligence and computer vision. The platform is designed to identify relevant activity, accelerate investigations, track subjects across video feeds, and surface information that supports more informed security and operational decisions. Rather than requiring teams to manually search through large volumes of footage, the technology helps direct their attention toward information that may require further investigation.

Its on-premises architecture also reflects Jonathan’s emphasis on organizational control. By allowing organizations to maintain greater control over sensitive video and data, the platform addresses an important consideration for enterprises adopting AI within security-sensitive environments.

Yet Jonathan believes the technology itself represents only part of the solution.

Central to his leadership philosophy is the principle of “Human at the Helm.”  For Jonathan, AI should strengthen human capability rather than remove people from decisions that require context, responsibility, and judgment.

He believes intelligent systems can perform much of the demanding analytical work, processing extensive video data, identifying patterns, and presenting relevant information. However, understanding what that information means and determining the appropriate response should remain the responsibility of people.

This distinction becomes especially important in physical security and public safety, where decisions can carry significant consequences. Jonathan advocates for transparent AI systems, meaningful human oversight, and the ability for people to intervene when necessary. In his view, accountability cannot simply be transferred to an algorithm because a system can process information faster than a human.

His perspective also extends beyond security technology. Having worked across global operations, financial leadership, and technology-driven organizations, Jonathan sees similar opportunities throughout enterprise environments. AI can help reduce repetitive analysis, simplify complex workflows, and make information more accessible, allowing professionals to concentrate on higher-value responsibilities.

For organizations, he believes successful AI adoption requires more than deploying increasingly sophisticated systems. It also demands careful consideration of data control, infrastructure, governance, and the relationship between automation and human decision-making.

Looking ahead, Jonathan envisions a future in which enterprise AI is measured not only by its autonomy but also by how effectively it supports the people who remain accountable for its outcomes.

Through Koshee Protect, he aims to contribute to that future by developing technology that processes information efficiently, brings important details into focus, and helps security professionals respond with greater clarity.

From navigating international business operations to advancing AI-powered video intelligence, Jonathan’s journey reflects a consistent conviction: technology creates meaningful value when it makes complex organizations more capable, adaptive, and resilient. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in everyday operations, his vision offers a clear direction for its application, let technology do the heavy lifting while keeping people responsible for the decisions that matter.
