Valeria Messina is an experienced business consultant with expertise in business analysis, evaluation, and digital strategies. She is a Partner at Intellera Consulting, a strategic consulting firm founded in 2021 following an MBO operation from PwC Consulting. Intellera provides professional services for public and private sector organizations and, as of May 2024, has become part of the Accenture Group. With two decades of experience in strategic consulting, Valeria plays a key role in managing complex transformation projects, particularly in the healthcare sector. She currently leads multiple teams of professionals with diverse expertise, developing innovative strategies to enhance healthcare services, digitize processes, and optimize governance within both public and private healthcare systems.

Valeria has significantly contributed to the digital transformation of healthcare in Italy. She played a fundamental role in supporting the design and drafting of Mission 6 Health of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), contributing to crucial reforms and investments aimed at modernizing the healthcare system. Her leadership extends to numerous regional and national projects, ensuring effective governance of the interventions outlined in the PNRR. As a key figure in Italy’s digital health and strategy landscape, she has led pioneering initiatives such as central-level Digital Health, the Electronic Health Record, telemedicine, the digitalization of territorial healthcare, the development of digital skills, and the integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare processes.

Valeria coordinates numerous digitalization projects for the Ministry of Health. In particular, for years she has been supporting and leading the design and development of the first national predictive model in the healthcare sector, based on big data and artificial intelligence, to assess the evolution of healthcare needs and allocate resources efficiently. She has also spearheaded the creation of the Health Prevention Hub, focusing on prevention and healthy lifestyles. Additionally, she has made a significant contribution to strengthening the New National Health Information System (NSIS), supporting the development of data collection and processing tools at the local level and contributing to the definition of essential regulatory frameworks.

Beyond her work in digital transformation, Valeria is an active advocate for inclusive leadership and employee well-being. Since 2022, she has served as Head of the People Workplace Experience function and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) policies at Intellera. In this role, she has introduced strategic initiatives to foster a positive corporate culture. She pioneered the IntelleraCare program, a comprehensive initiative aimed at removing barriers for women in the workplace by providing concrete support for career growth, including during maternity. The program also includes services for fathers and families, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
