Sunita Teckchand

Sunita Teckchand is a highly qualified clinical aromatherapist and integrated holistic therapist with over 27 years of experience in alternative medicine and complementary healthcare. Originally from Hong Kong, she moved to Dubai in 1997, seeking a better quality of life for her family. Recognizing the lack of awareness and accessibility in holistic therapies, she identified a niche market and launched Dubai’s first dedicated aromatherapy center in 1999. Holding a specialized rehabilitation license, she successfully ran the center for nine years before taking a sabbatical due to burnout.

In 2010, Sunita established The Holistic Institute in JLT, an accredited adult education center offering alternative therapy courses with IFPA and ITEC qualifications. However, regulatory changes led to its closure in 2014. She then expanded her reach by conducting seminars and workshops in Hong Kong and London. Anticipating the shift towards digital education, Sunita launched an online teaching platform in 2018, focusing on a Level 4/5 Clinical Aromatherapy Diploma accredited by The International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (UK). The platform continues to attract students worldwide, providing comprehensive education in aromatherapy.

Apart from her teaching endeavors, Sunita founded her own brand of pure organic essential oils, ‘eSSensuals,’ which students can purchase at a discount during their studies. Her journey into aromatherapy began in Hong Kong, where a compassionate therapist helped alleviate her chronic back pain, igniting her passion for holistic healing.

The Holistic Alternatives is a digital training platform offering diploma courses in clinical aromatherapy accredited by IFPA.
