Javier Ochoa

Javier Ochoa has been in the real estate business for over 20 years, working as a specialist in consulting, valuation, and forensic appraisals for luxury residential and commercial assets. Over the course of his career, he has led strategic real estate projects across Spain, Europe, Africa, and Latin America, building a reputation for precision, integrity, and innovative thinking in high-value property markets.

He has been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) since 2010, specializing in strategic consulting, and has served on RICS examination panels as well as a candidate coach, achieving a 100% pass rate. His commitment to professional development has allowed him to mentor numerous candidates toward achieving chartered status, while upholding the highest industry standards.

In 2021, Javier was appointed RICS Residential Ambassador for Spain, where he designed the residential and living training and development program. This initiative addressed market demands for modern living solutions and contributed to raising professional standards in the residential property sector. In 2022, he expanded his leadership as RICS Ambassador for the Agency in Spain and Latin America, further strengthening cross-border collaboration and industry growth.

Currently, Javier serves as the Chair of the RICS Regional Advisory Board in Spain and as a Member of the European World Regional Board, where he plays a key role in shaping strategic policies and advancing the profession at a continental level. In addition, he is the founder and driving force behind the RICS International Sustainable Tourism Forum, an initiative that brings together stakeholders to address the challenges and opportunities of mass tourism, with a focus on sustainability and community impact.

Parallel to his work with RICS, Javier has held prominent leadership positions in the private sector. Since 2010, he has been the Director of Luxury and Commercial at RE/MAX España, spearheading growth in the high-end real estate segment. He also co-founded Pilum Real Estate, where he designed, developed, and managed a consultancy dedicated to delivering tailored real estate solutions. His earlier experience includes senior development roles with Mixta Africa, Savills, and the Fondo de Inversión Gran Vía, where he was instrumental in international investment analysis, corporate headquarters negotiations, and large-scale urban development.

Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, Javier’s ability to lead global teams and projects is supported by a track record of successful ventures across diverse markets. His career reflects a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and cultural fluency, positioning him as a trusted leader in the evolving landscape of real estate and sustainable tourism.
