Alberto Bacó-Bagué’s journey began in a furniture factory in Puerto Rico, where he was raised in a family deeply rooted in the lumber business. In that environment, the human element held equal importance to the materials they transformed. Early experiences working in the family’s furniture factory instilled in him a core philosophy: adaptation is not optional, it is a necessity. However, he firmly believes that no company should vanish, but instead find ways to transform.

Over the span of more than four decades, Bacó-Bagué has maintained a singular mission, to drive, transform, and generate value. He has served on over 50 boards of directors across both public and private sectors and remains deeply engaged in shaping impactful business landscapes.

A lawyer, public accountant, and entrepreneur, his career has centered on leading recovery, restructuring, and strategic management processes for businesses across diverse industries. These complex challenges have contributed significantly to his growth as a professional and as an individual.

Beyond entrepreneurship, Bacó-Bagué is a dedicated mentor. Through his foundation, he guides entrepreneurs, founders, presidents, and board members using his proprietary 3-circle method, a framework designed to align purpose, business, and legacy. His ability to connect influential people with meaningful opportunities has positioned him as a key figure in both business development and private equity fund management. He is also an accomplished international speaker.

Bacó-Bagué is recognized for creating connections where others see barriers. His approach to transformation is not theoretical, it is demonstrated through action. In 2013, he was appointed Secretary of Economic Development and Commerce of Puerto Rico. By 2016, he also held the role of President of the Government Development Bank. From these leadership positions, he played a central role in advancing laws and policies that established Puerto Rico as a competitive hub for fiscal and business opportunities, effectively bridging relationships between the island and the United States.

In 2023, Bloomberg Línea named him among the 500 most influential people in Latin America, a distinction he holds in high regard, though it has not altered his core values: to serve, connect, and transform.

Outside of professional commitments, Bacó-Bagué finds balance in gardening, art, hiking, and time with his three children. He believes strongly in personal and professional development, guided by three unshakable values: integrity, empathy, and commitment.

His driving mission continues to be turning Puerto Rico into a powerhouse of opportunity for the world.
