About
In a business landscape where efficiency, visibility, and adaptability have become essential, Hayden Smart is emerging as a founder focused on building technology that responds to real operational challenges. As a Certified Practising Accountant, Director of RW Advisory Group, Founder & CEO of Talently, and Founder of FBTflow, Hayden brings more than two decades of business advisory experience into his technology vision. His work is grounded in a clear understanding of how outdated systems, manual processes, and fragmented workflows can slow decision-making, increase pressure, and make important business tasks harder than they need to be.
That experience now sits at the centre of two developing platforms: FBTflow and Talently.
FBTflow is Hayden’s most immediate launch focus. Currently moving into pilot phase, the platform is being positioned as an end-to-end Fringe Benefits Tax automation solution for employers, accountants, and advisory firms. Built around the message “Automate Your FBT,” FBTflow aims to simplify one of Australia’s more manual and time-consuming compliance workflows by supporting information collection, employee declarations, review visibility, progress tracking, and supporting record management in a more organised way.
For many businesses and advisers, the challenge with Fringe Benefits Tax is not only understanding the rules, but managing the process. Information is often handled across spreadsheets, emails, reminders, and manual follow-ups, creating pressure during FBT season. FBTflow is being developed to reduce that friction and create a clearer, more scalable workflow for firms and employers managing these obligations.
Working closely with lead developer Ben Unstead, Hayden has moved both FBTflow and Talently from concept into active platform development. Ben is leading the technical build across both projects, helping translate Hayden’s commercial vision into practical, scalable digital products - from FBTflow’s end-to-end compliance automation platform now entering pilot phase, to Talently’s broader workforce infrastructure and intelligence ecosystem. His role has been central in turning the ideas behind these platforms into working systems designed for real-world testing, user feedback, and future refinement.
While FBTflow focuses on compliance automation, Talently addresses another major business challenge: workforce visibility. Talently is an Australian-built digital workforce and talent platform being developed for talent, employers, and agencies. It is not being positioned as a traditional recruitment agency or job board, but as a broader ecosystem designed to modernise how talent and opportunity connect.
At the centre of Talently is the Digital Workforce Passport, giving individuals a more controlled and comprehensive way to represent their skills, experience, credentials, and career direction. For employers, the platform is being designed to support clearer access to available and emerging talent. For agencies, it aims to provide more structured workflows, stronger quality signals, and improved confidence across candidate and employer relationships.
What makes Talently especially relevant is that it has not been built from assumptions. Hayden has spent time meeting and speaking with employers, recruiters, advisers, agencies, and talent across the industry to understand the gaps they are experiencing first-hand. Those conversations have reinforced a clear message: the market does not need another traditional job board. It needs stronger workforce infrastructure, better talent intelligence, and a more connected ecosystem where talent, employers, and agencies can interact with greater trust, context, and control.
Together, FBTflow and Talently reflect Hayden’s broader founder vision: building technology that solves real business problems without adding unnecessary complexity. One platform focuses on simplifying compliance. The other focuses on improving talent visibility and workforce intelligence. Both are being shaped around the same principle - listening to industry needs, reducing friction, and creating systems that help users operate with greater clarity.
Hayden’s background as Director of RW Advisory Group strengthens this approach. Over more than two decades, he has helped grow the firm into a trusted accounting and advisory business, working across client relationships, tax advisory, service delivery, operations, financial planning, and business growth strategies. That commercial foundation gives his technology work a strong connection to the realities of business operations.
His work also reflects a distinctly Australian focus. FBTflow is being built around an Australian compliance obligation, with future cross-Tasman potential in New Zealand where similar Fringe Benefit Tax process challenges exist. Talently, meanwhile, is being shaped around Australian employers, workers, agencies, and workforce conditions. This local understanding gives both platforms a practical edge, especially for businesses seeking solutions that reflect their market, terminology, compliance needs, and commercial expectations.
As FBTflow prepares for launch and Talently continues to build momentum, Hayden Smart is positioning himself as a founder focused on execution rather than technology hype. Through both platforms, he is building towards a more structured future for compliance, recruitment, and workforce management one shaped by industry listening, practical experience, and a commitment to solving problems that matter.
