About

The most respected business leaders are those who help organizations navigate complexity with confidence while never losing sight of the people they serve. Their influence extends beyond executive titles, creating stronger institutions, more resilient leadership teams, and lasting value for communities. Jeanan Yasiri Moe has built her distinguished career around this philosophy, earning recognition as a trusted executive, board leader, strategic advisor, and executive coach whose work has shaped organizations across healthcare, higher education, media, and the nonprofit sector. Her journey reflects more than four decades of leadership dedicated to helping organizations embrace change, strengthen governance, and make decisions that stand the test of time.

With more than 20 years leading Jeanan Yasiri Solutions, LLC, Jeanan serves as a strategic advisor and executive coach to leaders and boards navigating organizational transformation, succession planning, and sustainable growth. Her guidance is rooted in practical executive experience, having held senior leadership positions at Dean Health System, Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF). Rather than offering theoretical solutions, she partners with executives to develop clear strategies, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and build organizations prepared for long-term success.

Today, Jeanan serves as Director of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs at WARF, the world's first university technology transfer organization. In this role, she leads strategic communications, advocacy, marketing, and stakeholder engagement initiatives that support the commercialization of University of Wisconsin-Madison research and innovation. Having first joined WARF as a consultant in 2006, she played a key role in campus and biotechnology engagement that helped shape planning for major research institutes and community outreach initiatives. Her current leadership continues to advance an organization with more than a century of service dedicated to transforming university discoveries into real-world impact.

Throughout her executive career, Jeanan has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to guide organizations through periods of significant change. As Chief Planning and Innovation Officer at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin, she led strategic business planning while directing the award-winning Better Together Project, which educated communities about the Affordable Care Act. Her responsibilities extended across strategic communications, physician engagement, product development, organizational transformation, and business planning during one of healthcare's most significant periods of reform. Earlier, as Vice President for Service Innovation at Dean Health System, she led systemwide practice management initiatives while creating the nationally recognized Community Care Program, helping improve access to care and strengthen patient-centered services. More recently, she contributed her expertise to the Wisconsin State Department of Health, advising on COVID-19 pandemic communications and federal Medicaid transformation initiatives.

Beyond executive leadership, governance has become one of Jeanan's defining strengths. She holds the Certified Director (NACD.DC) designation from the National Association of Corporate Directors as well as Private Company Governance certification from the Private Directors Association. These credentials complement her active leadership as Chair of the Give Back Foundation Board and Chair of the Governance Committee for the Edgewood University Board of Trustees. Through these positions, she helps organizations strengthen governance practices, support effective board leadership, and prepare institutions for long-term sustainability through thoughtful oversight and strategic succession planning.

Education and leadership development have also remained central to Jeanan's professional journey. She spent 26 years teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, reaching more than 5,000 students across multiple undergraduate courses while founding the University of Wisconsin Center for Nonprofits. Her work expanded educational opportunities for nonprofit professionals and created stronger connections between academic research, community leadership, and organizational development. This commitment to developing future leaders continues today through her executive coaching practice, supported by credentials including International Coaching Federation - Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Board Certified Coach (BCC), certification through the Center for Executive Coaching, and membership in the Forbes Coaches Council.

Jeanan's career has also been distinguished by her ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and purpose. Early in her professional life, she worked as a news reporter, anchor, and assistant news director before transitioning into executive leadership. She has since co-authored two books, written numerous professional articles, and presented at national conferences on healthcare, leadership, governance, and organizational transformation. Her contributions have earned notable recognition, including being named a YWCA Woman of Distinction and receiving the inaugural Dane County/City of Madison Public Health Leadership Award. Her diverse background even includes being a licensed private detective in the State of Wisconsin, reflecting the breadth of experience that has shaped her unique perspective as a strategic advisor.

Throughout every stage of her career, Jeanan Yasiri Moe has demonstrated that exceptional leadership is built on integrity, thoughtful governance, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. Whether advising executive teams, strengthening boards, advancing university innovation, or coaching leaders through periods of change, she continues to create meaningful impact across every organization she serves. Her remarkable ability to unite strategy, communication, governance, and leadership development makes her a truly deserving Global Business Icon to Follow in 2026.
