About
Healthcare transformation is rarely achieved through scientific breakthroughs alone. Lasting progress emerges when visionary leaders unite diverse stakeholders, bridge knowledge gaps, and create collaborative ecosystems that translate innovation into meaningful patient outcomes. In an increasingly interconnected world, where equitable access to healthcare remains one of the greatest global challenges, leadership is defined by the ability to inspire partnerships, influence systemic change, and empower communities to move forward together.
Maureen Doyle-Scharff, PhD, MBA, FACEHP has dedicated more than three decades to advancing this mission. A distinguished healthcare strategist, global health advocate, and transformational leader, she has built an exceptional career centered on improving healthcare through education, collaboration, and innovation. Her professional journey reflects an unwavering commitment to fostering partnerships that enable healthcare professionals, organizations, and institutions to deliver better outcomes for patients worldwide. Today, as the Founder and CEO of Change for Good, LLC, she continues to help organizations navigate complex healthcare challenges while championing sustainable solutions that promote health equity and evidence-based practice.
Before launching her own consultancy, Maureen spent nearly 25 years with Pfizer, where she became widely recognized for her leadership in global medical education, grants, and collaborative partnerships. Serving most recently as Executive Director and Group Lead of Global Medical Grants, she led cross-functional initiatives designed to support healthcare communities in advancing scientific knowledge, addressing unmet educational needs, and improving standards of patient care. Her work consistently focused on creating impactful collaborations between industry, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and professional organizations, ensuring that scientific innovation translated into measurable improvements in clinical practice.
One of the defining aspects of her leadership was her role in guiding Pfizer's Institute of Translational Equitable Medicine (ITEM), an initiative dedicated to understanding the science behind health disparities and transforming emerging research into practical strategies that improve health outcomes globally. Through this work, she demonstrated a deep understanding that advancing healthcare requires more than innovation alone—it demands inclusive thinking, equitable access to education, and meaningful collaboration across sectors. Her ability to unite science, strategy, and purpose has made her a respected voice in global healthcare transformation.
Throughout her career, Maureen has consistently embraced leadership roles that extend beyond organizational boundaries. She has served on the Board of the Global Alliance for Medical Education, held leadership positions within the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education, and founded the Ohio chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association, where she served as its first president. These contributions highlight her commitment to strengthening professional communities, mentoring future leaders, and advancing excellence across the healthcare ecosystem.
Her impressive career also includes senior leadership positions with globally recognized organizations such as Abbott, Johnson & Johnson, Pharmacia, and Pharmacia/Upjohn before joining Pfizer. Across these organizations, she developed extensive expertise in medical education, professional affairs, healthcare policy, advocacy, and strategic program development. Each role expanded her understanding of the evolving healthcare landscape and reinforced her ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through periods of transformation and growth. This diverse experience has enabled her to approach complex healthcare challenges with both strategic vision and operational excellence.
Equally remarkable is Maureen's academic foundation, which reflects her lifelong dedication to learning and leadership. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education from Ohio University, an MBA in Marketing from Saint Joseph's University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Michigan. This unique combination of education allows her to integrate analytical thinking, strategic business insight, effective communication, and creative problem-solving into every aspect of her leadership.
