Siddhant Chaturvedi's Yudhra Off to a Strong Start at the Box Office

Table of Contents

Ravi Udyawar's Yudhra, featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan, has made a promising entry into the box office arena. On its opening day, the film outperformed Kareena Kapoor’s The Buckingham Murders, grossing nearly four times more.

Box Office Performance on Day 1

Released on Friday, September 20, Yudhra marks Siddhant's debut as a solo lead. Despite mixed critical reviews, the film pulled in an impressive ₹4.5 crore on its first day, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. With over 2,200 screenings—almost double that of The Buckingham Murders—the film enjoyed an overall occupancy rate of approximately 46.54%, especially thriving during the evening shows.

In key regions, Yudhra boasted around 533 shows in Delhi/NCR, 353 in Mumbai, and 300 in Ahmedabad. Competing releases included Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam, which garnered ₹1.05 crore, just shy of The Buckingham Murders' ₹1.15 crore opening.

Day 1 Collections:

  • Yudhra: ₹4.5 crore

  • The Buckingham Murders: ₹1.15 crore

  • Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam: ₹1.05 crore

Impact of National Cinema Day Promotions

Yudhra benefited from discounted tickets priced at ₹99 in honor of National Cinema Day, making it the second-highest performer of the day after Stree 2, which earned ₹4.75 crore. With a production budget of ₹50 crore, including marketing expenses, Yudhra is well-positioned for further success. For context, Tumbbad earned ₹2.65 crore on the same day, securing the third spot following its re-release.

Looking Ahead

With minimal competition in the immediate future, Yudhra appears set for a solid weekend performance. Produced by Excel Entertainment, the film is Siddhant Chaturvedi's sixth release overall, following his roles in Gully Boy, Bunty Aur Babli 2, and Phone Bhoot. The film also features Raghav Juyal in a notable role.

About the Film

Yudhra follows the gripping narrative of a young man driven by vengeance after discovering that his parents were murdered in a tragic accident. As he delves into the world of a powerful drug cartel, Siddhant delivers a captivating performance, portraying both the character's physical intensity and emotional depth. Malavika Mohanan, as Nikhat, breaks stereotypes, delivering a strong performance in her first major commercial Hindi film.
