Probe Launched into Khalistani Link After Explosion Near CRPF School in Delhi
A mysterious blast outside a CRPF school in Rohini, Delhi, has triggered a major investigation, with authorities probing a potential Khalistani link. The explosion, which occurred around 7:40 a.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024, shattered windows and damaged property but caused no injuries.
According to police officials, the device used was a low-intensity IED, likely placed late Saturday night and detonated remotely. The absence of shrapnel and minimal harm suggests that the perpetrators intended to send a message rather than cause casualties.
The investigation took a new turn when a Telegram post by a group called "Justice League India" surfaced online. The post included a video of the explosion with a “Khalistan Zindabad” watermark and indicated the blast was a retaliation for the alleged targeting of pro-Khalistan separatists by Indian intelligence.
A multi-agency probe, involving the National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has been launched to trace the origins of the explosive device and its links to the Khalistani movement. Local police confirmed that they are treating this incident as a serious security threat but noted that it may have been an attempt to intimidate authorities rather than to cause mass harm.
The incident comes on the heels of numerous bomb threats across India, most of which turned out to be hoaxes. Investigators are working to determine whether the blast was part of a broader campaign by pro-Khalistan elements.
