PM Modi Invites Vladimir Putin to Visit India in Early 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit India in early 2025. Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov confirmed the invitation, stating that the leaders are positively considering potential dates for the visit.
“Our leaders have an agreement to meet annually. This time, it’s our turn,” Ushakov said during a briefing, adding that the tentative dates will be decided early next year.
This will be Putin’s first visit to India since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began in 2022. India has consistently advocated for “peace and diplomacy” to resolve the conflict.
The two leaders maintain close communication, having met twice this year and held regular phone conversations. In July, PM Modi visited Russia for the 22nd Russia-India summit, where he received Russia's highest national honor, "The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle," for his efforts to strengthen bilateral ties.
Putin’s upcoming visit highlights the strong relationship between India and Russia, built on mutual respect and strategic cooperation.
