Iran Supreme Leader’s Hebrew X Account Suspended After Criticism of Israel
New Delhi — The Hebrew-language account opened by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on X, formerly Twitter, was suspended after publishing only two posts. According to Jerusalem Post, the account was created following recent escalations between Iran and Israel.
The final post from Sunday warned, "The Zionist regime made a mistake, and erred in its calculation regarding Iran. We will make it understand what power, ability, initiative, and desire the Iranian nation has." The post came after Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iranian military targets.
Khamenei’s first Hebrew-language post, published on Saturday, opened with the phrase, “In the name of Allah the merciful.” These posts marked his stance on recent Israeli actions, which he said neither Iran should downplay nor Israel exaggerate. Khamenei accused Israel of attempting to inflate the perceived effects of its strikes while reminding that Iran’s power should not be underestimated.
Ongoing Iran-Israel Tensions
Israel's airstrikes on October 1 targeted various Iranian military sites, including missile facilities and surface-to-air defenses, resulting in the death of two Iranian soldiers. In response, Iran confirmed limited damage at military sites in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces. Iran’s air force responded to the strikes, stating that its response was proportional and had successfully concluded.
As Khamenei continues to voice strong opposition to Israel on his main X account, this suspension highlights ongoing censorship tensions amid heightened military activity between the two nations.
