Gavaskar Unhappy with India's Batting Order vs Bangladesh Despite Record-Breaking Performance

India displayed an extraordinary batting performance on the fourth day of their second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur, despite rain interrupting much of the previous two days. The Indian team, under Rohit Sharma's leadership, declared their innings at 285 for 9, setting a new benchmark for fast scoring in Test cricket. The team smashed through several records, including the fastest 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 runs.

However, cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, speaking on JioCinema, voiced his displeasure over the team's choice of sending Rishabh Pant to bat ahead of Virat Kohli in the lineup. Gavaskar noted that Kohli, with nearly 9,000 runs at the crucial number four position, should have been the obvious choice. Pant managed only 9 runs off 11 balls before being dismissed, while Kohli, coming in later at number five, contributed a valuable 47 runs off 35 balls.

Despite the batting order shuffle, Kohli continued to make history, overtaking Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest player to reach 27,000 international runs. Kohli reached the milestone in 594 innings, beating Tendulkar’s record of 623 innings.

As the fourth day came to a close, India was in a commanding position with Bangladesh reduced to 26 for 2. Ravichandran Ashwin played a crucial role, taking two wickets to give India the upper hand going into the final day.
