New Study Supports Covid Origin Theory Linked to Chinese Market
A new study published in the journal Cell has reinforced the theory that Covid originated from a Chinese market in Wuhan. The research examined over 800 samples from the Huanan Seafood Market, where wild mammals were reportedly sold. The findings strengthen the belief that humans contracted the virus from infected animals, adding further credibility to the theory of animal-to-human transmission.
Despite nearly five years since the first detection of Covid-19 in late 2019, the exact origin remains a highly debated topic, with contrasting views between the Chinese market origin and the alternative Wuhan lab-leak theory. This recent study, however, leans towards the market-origin theory, which has been favored by much of the scientific community.
Evidence Supporting Covid Origin from Chinese Market
The study on the Covid origin focused on samples from the seafood market, which also sold wild mammals, potentially transmitting the virus to humans. While the research provides more data supporting this Covid origin theory, it doesn’t entirely rule out the lab-leak hypothesis, keeping the debate alive.
Ongoing research into the origins of Covid-19 is crucial to understanding the virus and preventing future outbreaks, but this study significantly bolsters the case for animal transmission at a Chinese market.
