AI Surveillance Enhances Traffic Rule Enforcement in Bengaluru

In a significant move to curb traffic violations, Bengaluru has installed 330 AI-enabled cameras across major city junctions. These smart cameras will detect various violations, including overloading, illegal number plates, and driving without helmets. An extension of this project is also operational on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, where 60 cameras are now actively spotting speeding vehicles. The adoption of AI technology is expected to raise the number of booked cases, with nearly 90 lakh cases registered in 2023.
